Glass ceramic, also known as microcrystalline glass, vitroceramic glass, or ceramic glass, is a high-temperature technical glass produced through controlled crystallization of base glass. It starts as glass that can be cut, shaped, drilled, and processed, then becomes a stable glass-ceramic material after heat treatment.
Compared with ordinary soda-lime glass and tempered glass, glass ceramic offers much lower thermal expansion, better thermal shock resistance, and higher dimensional stability under repeated heating and cooling. It is widely used in induction cooktops, infrared cooker panels, gas stove fascias, fireplace doors, wood stove windows, heater panels, lighting covers, and other high-temperature applications.

Black ceramic glass is the standard substrate for induction cooktops, infrared cooker surfaces, gas stove panels, and kitchen appliance fascias. The polished black surface transmits electromagnetic and infrared energy efficiently with minimal heat loss, holds dimensional stability through daily heat cycling up to 750 °C, and resists staining, discoloration, and surface degradation over the product lifespan.
Induction Cooktop Panels
Electromagnetic energy from the induction coil passes through the ceramic glass substrate to heat the cookware directly. The near-zero CTE means the panel does not distort or develop stress fractures across thousands of heat cycles. Black polished finish is standard; custom sizes and cutout profiles to drawing.
Infrared Cooker Surfaces
Infrared heating elements sit below the ceramic glass panel and radiate heat upward through the substrate. The glass transmits infrared efficiently while its surface remains cleanable and structurally stable under sustained high surface temperatures.

Clear ceramic glass maintains full optical transparency under direct and sustained flame exposure, with a continuous working temperature up to 750 °C and short-term peak tolerance beyond that. It does not fog, yellow, develop surface micro-fractures, or require ventilation gaps to survive the thermal load — failure modes that eliminate standard tempered glass from these applications entirely.
